Whenever I have played in the 'play money' section of an online casino I have noticed that I win quite a lot.

Is this just a way of promoting that 'winning feeling' to customers and get them to deposit real money. Is this regulated at all? It wouldn't be fair if an online casino payed out over 100% on their 'play money' section to get people to deposit.

Reputable gaming operators will use the same software and random number generators for play-money as they do for real-money games. It would be very short sighted to try and cheat players, when the simple mathematics of casino games means that the house will always come out ahead.

Ian am i right in saying that these random generators work on percentages also, say some have a 90% payout and so on. Could the free play have a very hi payout setting.

Also on the other hand since this is free play and youdon't have any real risks you tend to play more openly and risking bigger amounts. this could result in better winings at times.

The RNGs don't work on a percentage, the games have the percentage built in. If you're playing single zero (European) roulette there is a 2.7% edge in favour of the house. With double zero (American) roulette this increases to over 5% towards the house. Playing for any period of time means that the house will eventually come out on top.

You're quite correct, when playing for free, there's less emotion involved and people are prepared to take greater risks. They also will be less inclined to come out of the game when the funds are getting lower as it's not 'real' money and this is often where the 'winning streak' kicks off. Of course, if you're playing with you own cash, it's probable that you'll have left the table whilst you still had enough cash for a pint and a taxi home!

As i was learning to play blackjack i used to have a great disparity between the results of the downloaded game i used, the for fun side of the game and the gambling with real cash of the casino, even tought latter i compared the results with my local casino and ended with basicly the same results...

and on those cases i was using exactly the same blackjack strategy chart
