Sorry to say, but England's bowling in recent matches has been pathetic. I know the pitches at Lords and Headingly have given their bowlers no help at all but you have to expect a lot more against not the best betting unit in the world - SA. Bring back Hoggard and Harmison I say.

I think that might have been Patterson's first and last test. Why he was selected over some experienced test bowlers I will never know. If you are going to blood new talent, don't do it with a 29 year old who is unherad of. Go for a promising young guy who has time to develop into test status.
