Greatest Tennis match ever? This is a discussion thread · 4 replies Can anyone think of a better tennis match than the one we witnessed last Sunday in the Wimbledon final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer? Bjorn Borg vs John McEnroe in 1980 at wimbledon comes VERY close. Borg won 8-6 in the final set and McEnroe saved 7 match points. When he went on court, McEnroe was booked by the crowd and he left the court to a standing ovation. I honestly can't remember a match that comes close to the final at this year's Wimbledon. The two points - Nadal moving to match point and Federer saving it were the most immense points I can remember in a match. I watched the match in a bar and before EVERY point it was completely silent and then either the Nadal or Federer fans erupted after the point. A match I'll NEVER forget Anonymous: It's a few months after but I can still remember watching the match | Have a question? People are waiting to help. Interesting stuff |
