iGaming Profiler Malta sits down for an in-depth chat with Alex Czajkowski, former Sportingbet PLC Americas Marketing Director and the founder and CEO of Egaming 2.0 - which are the innovative minds behind the recently launched online, interactive supercasino, Buzzluck.com. As the old saying goes, “You can always tell the pioneers. They’re the ones with the arrows in their backs.”

How has your experience led you to where you are today with the creation of Buzzluck?

What we realized after looking at the online industry for the past 10 years there hasn’t been much innovation. I was a venture capitalist coming out of the dot-come boom and I had a bunch of ideas and felt they would most apply in two arenas – the financial world or the online gaming world. So I chose igaming which I think is one of the most exciting industries in the world, but they typically have the most boring websites. I did it for four years so understand completely why that is, but it really presents a great opportunity. So from there I joined with Kerzner, worked with Casino Atlantis and Betinternet until Sportingbet snatched me up and sent me to Costa Rica, which was great fun. We did a lot of innovative stuff for Sportingbet and, in fact, they were so innovative that we won Sportsbook of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and were nominated for Innovation of the Year for 2007.

What we did under the acquiring company of Sportingbets assets in Costa Rica was re-creating PlayersOnly - which at the time was a dying brand; a sportsbook, casino, poker thing that was going...
