Oval or Octagon Table? This is a discussion thread · 26 replies Alan W. Boston: I am going to build a poker table for Texas Hold 'Em, but am unsure which kind to make. Just curious on the opinions out there. We don't have a designated dealer, so that makes the octagon table look good. However, I would like to seat as many people as possible at the table, which makes the Oval look good. Any thoughts?

James - RecPoker.com: Build an oval table without the Dealer section. It's comfortable, professional, and did I say comfortable? It's pretty good, but there tends to be too much distance between opposite seated players, which makes dealing kind of a pain. We also use large index playing cards to see the cards easier. If I had to do it again, I'd make it slightly smaller, but it works great. That being said, I prefer the oval shapped tables myself, but we took a vote of the 10 regulars we have in our game and the decagon won, so, there you have it. Jared Weisman: Unless you have one or two people that want to deal the whole night, probably not a good idea. Hard dealing from the ends of the tables or anywhere really that isn't in the center. So if you plan on passing the deal, octagon or decagon probaly bestRead, Post, and Reply to RGP Posts at http://liveactionpoker.com Watch Streaming Poker TV now at: http://pokerupdates.com

Al: We will be passing dealer. Having to deal from the ends was the only thing I was concerned about. Is it really that bad? I can only find plans for an octagon table. Anyone know where I can find decagon plans? That would be sweet.
