Matt: [nq:1]This does seem to be quite a claim. You have to wonder that if it were true why would someone ... true as well. I wish I was a math geek who understood those complex formulas is all I can say...[/nq]It's true that a badly-designed PRNG (or one that is not seeded with enough random noise) can produce predictable (or semi-predictable) patterns in its output. This has always been a problem in computer science, and lots of people spend lots of time and money to get around it. Clearly the manufacturers of this slot/video poker machine didn't. Now, several early online gambling sites DID have problems like this, and at least one site's RNG system was cracked (so that certain players knew, with very good probability, what the other players' hole cards and the next cards to come off the deck would be). However, all the major sites (AFAIK, and as far as the vague descriptions on their web pages suggest) use RNGs that have enough true randomness introduced that this is no longer possible. It is possible (although very unlikely) that Party's system is still flawed somehow in this fashion. They would be almost certain to notice people abusing this over time, however, unless the people who knew about it were smart enough to only use it occasionally, or to protect themselves from really bad beats. And, honestly, if Party wanted to let their prop/shill players cheat, they'd just have the server show them all the cards and tell them what's coming off the deck rather than manipulating the RNG (which could be detected by outside players as well). Get a clue and/or a CS degree before you start spouting out conspiracy theories.

Sleepboxer: After the poster posted this:"Try using a x=***(37.2fn(z^3)log8) factor on cards lower than 9 and you should increase the accuracy of your maps substantially." he followed up with this: "Yes, monkeys are cool. I am considering getting one as a pet/personal assistant. One cool idea my friends and I came up with was that for Halloween I could dress up as a pirate and then have my pet monkey dress up as a parrot and hang out on my shoulder. How cool would that be?" That's all. [nq:1]I never studied calcium, fancy or even plain geometry, but I knows a scamwhen I smells it. I think people ... be helping all these Nigerians transfer their wealth. I'm with u so far. [nq:1]And, honestly, if Party wanted to let their prop/shill players cheat, they'd just have the server show them all the cards and tell them what's coming off the deck rather than manipulating the RNG (which could be detected by outside players as well).[/nq] This makes sense to me, although I never suggested anthing of the kind. Get a clue and/or a CS [nq:1]degree before you start spouting out conspiracy theories.[/nq] Excuse me? Is your short term memory somehow impaired, or are u just an ass? I never spouted any conspiracy theories and don't understand where your coming from with this last sentence. Thanks for the education on the subject although it would have been more appreciated if you saved the smartass comment at the end.

Edward Hutchison: In answer to your query, I will reproduce a posting I made several months ago on this forum.COPY In a recent week, I got more than 50 emails from various foreigners usually Nigerians asking for my help in getting a "fortune" out of their country. They claim to be Princes, Prime Ministers, or some similar potentate. The letters are in very broken English, and promise that I will receive a large fee for my help. However, they always require that I share my bank account info with them so that they can transmit their funds to me. Sure. As I have come to prefer food with my meals, I long ago learned to avoid those who promised me something for nothing except the Democrats, of course, I still fall for their line. So, at first, I just deleted these annoying emails and went back to watching my favorite cartoons. Then, I heard of the fun that some others have had in replying and leading the scamsters on. I tried this and found it has produced some interesting and funny consequences. Therefore, as a public service, I herewith submit a generic form letter that you can use to reply to the next message from one of your new Nigerian pals. They will have no idea what you are saying, but they do recognize enough English to get the idea that you are ripe for plucking and I practically guarantee a quick response. If nothing else, I get a chuckle out of these crooks calling our local zoo and trying to talk with Mr. Teddy Bear. Best wishes. Ed COPY: Hi ya, Prince. Thank you for your kind message. I am glad that news of my good character has reached even to Nigeria. I had no idea that I was held in such high regard abroad. As you no doubt know, I am fabulously wealthy and a philanthropist with a string of poloponies. Unfortunately, the terrorists who now control the American government keep trying to get us to pay taxes. My family has always resisted, on religious grounds, this attempt to take our money, and we often give it away to our foreign friends to keep it out of the hands of the terrorists. You would be doing us a favor if you would take some of this money. We have more than we can use. I made much of my fortune by inventing an intercontinental, microscopic, two-tone, computerized widget with dual controls. It has brought me much fame and wealth. I also add to my fortune by selling my art work. I paint surrealistic designs on very large rocks, and, if I do say so myself, I am perhaps the world's best known surealistic/rock painter. I would be only too happy to send you one of my works of art. Let me know your address and I will send it for free. But, as the terrorists control the post office, I must send your art work by collect freight. I will send one of my greatest masterpieces. You asked for me to tell something about myself: My main hobby is watching old movies. In fact, I learned all about your country from watching Tarzan movies. They are so educational. I can even speak your language, just from what I have learned from the movies. I can say, "Me go now, bwana," and "Me, Honest Eddie, you good friend." How's that, for never having a lesson. Moreover, after watching Tarzan, I have come to appreciate the beautiful friendship exemplified between a man and his chimp. That wonderful Cheetah has been an inspiration to me for many years. I want to be just like him someday. My other hobbies are collecting gum wrappers, listening to Morton Downey records, and I am the president of an organization working for the beatification of Captain Kangaroo. I, also, cultivate a small garden, and have a financial interest in a big bridge in Brooklyn, NY. I have 1.6 children which is average for us foreigners. I like polka music, and some times square dance to funeral dirges, just for relaxation. I collect McDonald happy meal prizes and give them to my many friends as Christmas gifts. My friends often seek my advice, as you have done, and I am always glad to help. It is getting burdensome to answer the frequent requests for me to share some of my beauty secrets, so I am thinking of writing a book. It will probably be made into a major motion picture in Technicolor. Please fax all the material I need to 601-982-7177, or you can call me anytime at 601-352-2580, which is the number for my palatial estate and zoological gardens. Just ask for Ted. E. Baer. If you prefer you can mail me at: Hon. Ted. E. Baer, corner of Hickory and Dickory (down by the dock), cell 12, Metropolis, NY, USA. My new Bank of America account number is 9874-2301-2770.5 and my pin number is 9632. I am wonderfully generous and kindhearted, and the object of much affection here in my home land. I am always glad to help out my needy millionaire Nigerian friends when they have some little problem. Incidentally, we have a wonderful custom here in my country. The Nigerians that we befriend are expected to immediately send their American correspondent two ducks and a pig. It is an old and honored custom here and I would not want to excite the interest of the terrorists who are now in control of our government, so we had better go along with this ancient custom. If it is easier for you, you can just send me cash and I will purchase the two ducks and a pig in your name. I think about $100 should take care of everything. Please send me photos of your family so that I can know you better. Several other posters had suggested that this was being done on purpose by Party to provide an edge to their house players. You just got caught in the crossfire. )
