I like to have 2 bankers, 2 outsiders and 2 decent runners. It's just a technique i've been using for years. Hasn't brought me much luck up to now though :(

Just pick 6 horses that place and you're quids in! I do like one or two bankers as well though.

try and cross out all the donkeys in each race, this will shorten the fields and increase your chance of a win. also remember bigger fields require more thought, so 2nd favs are usually best
