Quickie Tampa Poker ReportThis is a discussion thread · 16 replies 1 2 RMITCHCOLL: Tried the new 1-2 limit poker tonight at Tampa Dog Track. Me and fellow RGPer Steve Cohen decided to give it a go. Very nice clean room, no smoking, friendly dealers and players. Level of play pretty awful. Some highlights.1) Guy on my right played avery hand except one. He kept saying he wished hecould play more like me. I have absolutely never heard anyone say that before -). He really sucked. I felt like the one eyed man in the kingdom of the blind. 2) His wife sits down on my left. The following conversation actually occurred.I swear. She calls pre flop along with 3 other players. Flop comes J73 rainbow. Check to her husband who bets. She calls and the other 2 call. Turn is 4. Same betting occurs. River is a T. Final board J734T. Hubby bets, she calls others fold. He has AJ, she has KQ. Hubby asks why would you call. She says.."if a 9 or A come I would win". I said there were already 5 cards on the board, She says "I Know". 3) Only saw 4 mullets...not bad for Tampa. But 3 were on women. 4) I am quitting work tomorrow. I won 25 Big Bets in 3 hours. Stephen D. Cohen: [nq:1]Was it very crowded over there? I'm thinking of heading over one night next week.[/nq]Not terribly. Randy was seated almost immediately and I got a seat about two minutes after I finished wolfing down a quick hot dog for dinner. There were seats at Hold'Em tables and Stud tables immediately available almost the entire time I was there. The only wait was for O8, and the worst part of it was waiting for the game to form. Oh, waiting for the game to form and the lousy cards I got while the guys at the end of the table that were seeing every flop invariably hit their three outers to scoop. Sheeesh. I want to play with those guys again. The Hold'Em table at which I played while waiting for the O8 table to open was similar in quality to what Randy described above. I wasn't getting the cards Randy was getting so things didn't go that well for me. Either that or I suck. Regards, Steve Cohen UDB - Unaffiliated Drunken
