he said on two plus two if he played all the WPT tournaments he would be in top 20. he claims he is more interested in side games because they are more profitable\. he says he plays 300 - 600 but you would have to play alots of hrs of 300 - 600 to probably match your ev in a 10K\ tourney. any opinions?

I agree that there is more money to be made in side games on a more regular basis than in tournaments. However, that's all that I agree with. Sklansky is pretty good at making highly egotistical meaningless boasts when he doesn't have to back them up.

If we're talking about EV/hour or EV/hand your statement really makes no sense. If you're talking about some other kind of EV I'd like to know what it is, because I don't understand.

sklansky is not a great player, he is just good at math and writing poker literature. He would be the underdog in most games at the 100-200 level and higher.
I do play that level and know other players who share this opinion.

If I played all the WPT events, I would be the season money winner. I said it, so it must be true.

How do you explain that he usually plays higher?

A very famous pro said David absolutely kills the 300-600 game and David plays it almost every night.

He's full of ***.
To someone with as many books in print as him, the EV of getting on TV as regularly as he claims he would is huge.

It's big enough so that I intend to start playing tournaments next year, even though I don't like tournaments, I don't really have a lot of stamina, and I don't really have much of a bankroll.. The potential has become worth taking the shot.
