Slow pre-flop folding

I was at a table today where a player ran the clock down every hand pre-flop before folding. What is the point in doing this?

Running the clock down before folding pre-flop is pathetic. Waiting half the clock for every hand is a lot more sensible ;) - at least that's what I do.

They are just trying to wind you up with their slow play I think. There is no other logical or sensible answer to this question. It's just plain stupid.

and to clarify... when I say slow play I am not referring to the 'slow play' tactic when you try and draw a player in, I actually mean the English definition of the term playing slowly!

Seriously, when have you ever seen a live player taking a long time every hand to fold their hole cards. Fair enough, there are hands that players might want to take their time to think about... but every hand???

These players should be warned about time wasting. In fact, is there a rule about this anywhere in a live environment?
