27 players took on to the felt on Monday, 14th July, at the Rio in Las Vegas to decide who will be the final 9 players  to play it out for the most prestigious title in the poker world, the  in $10,000 no-limit hold’em world championship at the 2008 World Series of Poker.  This final group of players had a lot on the line, despite the fact that every single one of them would walk away with at least $257,334 in prize money. A spot at the 2008 main event final table was on the line, and the shot at $9,119,334.  The final nine players, dubbed by many the November Nine, will now take a break for almost four months and return to the Rio on the 9th of November to play the first part of the final table. The final two players will then return for a heads-up match on the 10th of November to determine the world champion.
