I used to be a decent player but the pressure of having to win made me change my game slightly and I became a little predictable. It really is not easy going full-time and I suggest not doing it if you have anyone depending on you ie: family and kids.

Re: Making a living out of Poker

Very few are able to go full-time - I would recommend finding a level that pays for you and sticking to it. There is no substitute to a pay check from your emplaoyer every month. Having said that, if you are a single man with no commitments and you feel you are ready for it, then go for it.

Re: Making a living out of Poker

Thanks for the advice guys - it's not something I've ever considered doing but it has always been a dream. If you don't have a large bank then a bad month will really make you suffer. If I ever won a major tourney than i'd go full-time for medium stakes.

Re: Making a living out of Poker

Not many at all pokerpro.

To start off with you would need a considerable starting bank to be able to handle a bad month or two. Excellent money management is vital and a serious amount of self-discipline is essential.

Making a living out of Poker

What percentage of Poker players are able to make a living out of the game?
