Team news, Harmison in, Broad back at no.8 and Bopara not in team.

5 man bowling attack which I agree with seeing that SA batsmen have dominated thus far. Flintoff batting at 6 (which is is rightful position - I don't care what anyone says).

This is a positive approach to selection and at 4.0 England are worth a bet finally.

Patriots are 4/1 5.0 with one exchange. Definitely worth a bet here. They have a relatively easy season and will be very difficult to beat.

This is a very difficult question to answer.

Assuming that you aren't a jockey, trainer or horse owner or a close friend or relative of either of the three you have few options on where to find a value bet.

Firstly, the best way to go about racing betting is to specialise on a particular type of racing. You might prefer jumps racing (national hunt) or flat racing. Then choose a particular type of course or distance or a combination of both. My advice is to go for something you enjoy - for example you might prefer flat, class 1 races at major meetings or grade 5 races on artificial tracks. The more prestigeous the race, the more that is known by average punters and therefore finding a value bet might be more difficult. In less quality races, there is more information out there for jockeys, trainers and stable-staff as they WILL have information about their horse that you won't have. Once you have decided on your race type you just need to study and study the form of the horses in the race type. Probably the best site with information and data that is free is: www.racingpost.co.uk.

Secondly, you might want to ditch all the form books and look for dirty (bad e/w races) where if your staking plan is correct, you can win money by backing all horses except for the favourite. I believe that there is a thread in this forum about the technoque.

You might also opt for following a recognised tipster, such as pricewise (again a thread on the topic can be found in this forum).

Finally, discipline is the key to horse racing betting. You will have losing days and the worst thing you can possibly do is to start 'chasing'. (Increasing your stakes to catch up on your losses). This technique will lead you straigh tto the poor house.

I suppose the main objective of the sportsbook is to offer as many opportunities for punters to have a bet. They keep relatively low liability limits for special bets such as 'weather betting' however if they can get a new customer through the doors with such markets they are delighted to do so.

I think Ladbrokes won millions last christmas day because it didn't snow.

Novelty bets appeal to a VERY large market.

I had a betting account heavily restricted to the point that it was pointless having a bet. I did it by backing horses in bad e/w races - the bookies HATE IT :)

Talking about Turkey, apparently someone backed them at 899/1 to win the tounament when they were looking like going out against the Czechs. Nice little earner if the bet obliges!
